Walkden Gardens Autumnal Family Shoot
I have a few favourite places for portrait shoots. Worsley Woods is perfect ofr a real outdoorsy adventure with fallen trees, carved wooden animals, knarled roots and a secret meadow. Dovestone Reservoir is a mixture of wild countryside with purple heather and huge boulders, and serene reservoir with boats with colourful sails bobbing on the water.
Walkden Gardens is definitely in my top 5. It is easy to get to, just off the M60 motorway. There is free parking and the gardens are small but varied. Perfect for lots of contrasting portrait images and not too arduous on little legs.
It doesn’t matter what time of year you come, there is a photo opportunity. In Autumn there are still lots of colourful flowers about, but also the carpets of autumn leaves.
So this was where I recommended Luisa and Chris have their family shoot. They brought along their son, the very adorable Arthur, who was shy for all of 5 minutes before he discovered the delights of the park.
Shy cuddles with mum and dad.
He loved taking mum and dad for a walk amongst the trees.
How adorable is Arthur’s stripey fox jumper?
We took advantage of the last of the colourful flowers in the more formal part of Walkden gardens.
Arthur is so pleased with himself-walking is still a novelty. 🙂
A rustic bench that is just the right size for a toddler to have a little rest.
Super cute family shoot. If you would like to book a family shoot of your own please do not hesitate to get in touch. I can also offer portrait gift vouchers for that special Christmas present.
